No better way to spend a day (or two)

Rab old town is instantly recognisable from its four bell towers that rise above the ancient stone streets. Wandering through these narrow roads and alleys makes for a great day in itself giving the chance to take in the churches of Gornja ulica (the upper road) and the views out across the adriatic. For the greatest view of the water and the town itself its best to head up the bell tower of the cathedral of St Mary the Great.
For people watching find yourself a chair and a drink and settle in on one of the two main squares that sit opposite the harbour - Trg Municipum Arba and Trg Svetog Kristofora .

For drinking, you could do a lot worse than heading to Sredna ulica - bar street, as its affectionately known, is a long narrow strip with bar after bar after bar. Here you can enjoy the local hospitality and drinks until the early hours. Head to the end and you'll find bar Sanda (our favourite) .
